The Everett Wind Energy Team consists of students and staff members from both Washington State University and Everett Community College. We are developing real world skills and expanding on classroom knowledge by competing in the U.S. Department of Energy’s national collegiate wind energy competition.
We need business, communications and engineering students to help our team blow the competitors away.
Our challenge is to research, design, and build a wind turbine for deployment.
We will need to create:
• An effective mechanical, electrical, and aerodynamic wind turbine and load design that is safe and reliable for testing in an on-site wind tunnel.
• A site plan and cost of energy analysis for a 100-megawatt wind farm.
• A presentation on wind energy careers, community engagement, and outreach.
